We are on a roll people!
The last month I was in Washington was a blur! There was so much to do, tons of final things etc.
- Last Recipe Night with the amazing women in Longview 3rd Ward!
- Finished my final order of "Welcome Baskets" for work... Did I mention I opened a business? Ya, about the time Spencer decided to move. Great timing! I loved creating the baskets and making the cards and getting to know the residents at work!
- Started my Racing Tshirt quilt, again I have perfect timing skills! Who starts a new project when they are suppose to be packing?! ME!
- Helped a friend start on her tshirt quilt- how's it going Joann?! :)
-Spent a few days in Spartanburg, SC when Spencer first started work. Worst experience ever! I was suppose to look for housing while he was at work, but I didn't have a car so I was looking online and calling people, which I greatly dislike, and then once he got home *hotel* we'd go driving around. Everything we found was super ghetto or far from his work. Looking for housing stresses me out and it was hot and humid and I had no desire to be there and was wondering what the heck Spencer got us into! Luckily, he had way more success once I came back to the West side. It worked out TONS better! And he found us a place to live! Yay!!! Unfortunately I did not take any pictures while I was out there, or I just can't find them. Could be attributed to my attitude, who knows.
- Spencer came back for a week to finalize work stuff and so I put him to work! We finished the back yard...for the next people. We are really good at starting projects and finishing them for the next person!
- Went to the lake one last time. Most beautiful spot in Longview and love how peaceful it is!
- While Spencer was home we went to a Mariners game. It was a lot of fun to hang out with family for a weekend. And a few rows ahead of us was one of my good friends from college. Late study nights...good times. It was fun to introduce Spencer to Ryan and his fiance and get to say goodbye. Totally Random. Seriously...what are the odds?
While at the stadium we finally went and found their family brick. The Drolette family is part of history...kinda cool!
- Went to my final Relief Society activity! I loved planning activities for these amazing women!
- As part of the moving package, Spencer's work paid for pro movers to come pack and load, which should have made my job easier right? I don't think so. I couldn't pack and clean out a room, so I was sorting through stuff and not being able to pack, but I def didn't want them to pack garbage- which I've been told that they pack EVERYTHING! Side note: while unpacking I found a carefully wrapped piece of candy and some paper clips...awesome! And then my car was also being transported, but on a different day then when I was getting my rental and a different day then when the movers were coming! Yay for amazing friends! Chels let me stay at her house, girls came from the ward to help me clean, and Chels helped me get my rental!
The plus to living where we did was...we were outside city limits so finding food was a little difficult. YAY for the gas station down the street! Please don't judge my option for lunch- at least the strawberry milk has to be healthy right?

- Okay so getting the rental car was a fun trip. Because I wasn't bringing it back to the same place, it was super expensive so I only rented it for 24 hours, which meant I could only pick it up at a certain time to ensure it gave me enough time to get to Idaho and drop it off, plus losing an hour! Chels was awesome! What a memorable adventure! We got lost trying to find ice cream in Portland, got lost finding the airport from said ice cream place, circled the airport numerous times before we decided to finally ask someone where we pick up cars (it apparently was in a different place than the other car rentals). And then we seriously needed to find a bathroom! We spent like an hour searching. Apparently gas stations in Portland/Vancouver are against having restrooms in their establishments! And all the normal stores were closed. We finally found a fast food restaurant SCORE! The trip took way longer than expected but we laughed the entire time trying to follow each other and Chel's GPS!

- My trip to Idaho was pretty uneventful, mostly. I left super early (time crunch!!) My rental was high tech- it told me how many miles I had left on my gas tank etc. It was pretty cool. Until it said I had 60 miles left and the next town was 50 something. It was totally my fault. I didn't want to stop sooner- such an inconvenience. But I didn't take into account that part of that 50 or so miles was up a really steep incline. I of course drove right past the last exit that said "no gas for next 47 miles"- I could make it. And then I started panicking as the mileage went down a lot faster than the actual miles were! When it said I had only 25 miles left on my tank and a mileage sign said I had 35ish I decided to I had better go back. Good thing it was all down hill!! I literally coasted down the interstate the last few miles to get back to that exit that had warned me half an hour before. So lesson learned- listen to those small promptings and gas mileage on signs and in fancy cars lie.
I loved looking out my mirrors and seeing Washington/Oregon pass behind me. I had this really great imagery of leaving something I knew in the rearview mirror as I looked through the front window at the unknown. Okay, so at the time I'm sure in my mind it sounded better than that- I had a long time to polish the analogy and now I've forgotten it! But it must have been good since I found this pic!
- Goodbye Washington/Oregon!!
Hello new adventures!!!
For the record, I did get to Idaho Falls just in time (even with a few minor detours...)
