Triple Falls, NC

I love waterfalls! I love the sound of the water rushing over the rocks and the majesticness of it all!
Definitely one of my favorite of God's creations!
Triple Falls was great- cuz there were 3 Falls to visit duh!!

The hikes to the different falls weren't bad. I think it was like 2-3 miles total.

I chose to not get quite as close as these guys did.
I have this thing with having soggy shoes.

I kinda wished we had been on our own time schedule,
so that we could have just sat on the waterfalls and enjoyed it more.
Maybe next time!

After the falls, the Browns took us to this awesome sight.
You could see almost all the way to the ocean!
Truly breath taking sight to see!

This little girl makes my day! I love her to death!
Had to take the pic of her trying to see the sights all by herself,
and trust me- she would have crossed if she could have gotten up!
Extreme Cowboy Racing, Apple Fest, and waterfalls- Great Labor Day Weekend!!!

Hendersonville Apple Fest

Hendersonville, NC- home of Apple Fest!
It reminded me a lot of Pullman's Lentil Fest, every little town has something!
They closed main street and had vendors all up and down it.
There were tons of people selling apples (of course),
but my favorite was this fine chocolate store stand selling caramel apples.
It was a little expensive, but my dark chocolate caramel apple was AMAZING!!
Totally worth the drive up to the little town. A lot of the little shops were closed, and we didn't have time
to go through the ones that were open so we want to go back. It seemed like a cute little town with lots of history.
The parade was awesome! Maybe a little long...everybody was in it!

There were tons of people! They come from all around to visit the Fest
 Deep fat fried oreos....YUMMMM!!!!
I've never been to a parade where every part of the service was represented
not only by active members, but also retired from every war. It was awesome!
Every cop car and fire truck for 3 counties were also in the parade- I'll admit, that
got a little old.

This one pretty much sums up the parade- they are the "Spartanburg Hillbillies"!
It said so right on their truck! I loved their hats! They had everything and anything
pinned to their hats.

Extreme Cowboy Racing

Move over rodeo and horse races!
There's a new competition in town!
EXTREME HORSE RACES!!!
We went with some friends to Chesnee, SC where regionals were held.
I have never seen anything like this before. It made me want to ride a horse!
There were competitors of all ages- even preteens and an 87 year old!
One of the guys fell into the water as he was reaching to fill a bucket,
it was so funny!
The Emcee was hilarious!! He reminded me of exactly what
an old cowboy from a western would sound like...right down to
his adjectives and similes!

I never thought about needing an umbrella in the summer time,
but it was super hot and sunburned on contact.
I think I really could do extreme racing- it looked like a lot of fun!!
