First South Carolina Interaction

Whoo! South Carolina is HOT and HUMID!
I was so glad the hotel room had A/C!

We went to Play it Again Sports and picked up two discs.
There are tons of small colleges in the area.
Wofford College has a small disc golf course.
It was pretty fun! Next time I think we could run it instead of
walk it- provided it's not as hot.
After our game we went to a stake pioneer BBQ. Their BBQs are a little
different here. Still had hamburgers, but not very many salads, except potato and baked beans!
Spencer introduced me to a few people that he had met in the ward already. It was fun.
They had a tug-o-war. Let's just say the other team was stacked, and we had a few that could
barely reach the rope. At least that's what we told the guys when they lost horribly!! lol

Trip to Salt Lake City

We decided that instead of sending me on a bus to Salt Lake City, we would make a trip out of it.
Our original plan was to go to the Salt Lake Temple but it was under construction. Our trip also started out a little late. So we ended up only getting as far as Presto/Logan. We stayed and my Uncle Vernon's house. And the next morning we went to the Logan Temple. It was really pretty inside.

Then we headed to Salt Lake City. Some of us may have been sleepy...

Some of us were hungry and keeping each other company.
We went and visited Temple Square. A lot of it was under construction, so we couldn't get very close
to the temple. We went into some of the visitors centers. I had forgotten how many centers there are
and all the things there are to see.

We also visited City Creek (?) It was really pretty.
We looked into various shops, but our main goal was to find
food! We walked all over looking for Olive Garden.  Found out we had gone
the wrong direction and had to turn around.

The food was yummy and totally worth the walk (and the walk back)!

It was an adventure, our only map was one from the hotel, you know the kind they rip out of a
pad of paper and has lines drawn on it. So it was fun for those of us who don't have the city memorized!

My flight left mid morning. So they dropped me off that morning, helped me get my bags checked, and said good bye! What a fun few days! But I was probably ready to see Spencer and South Carolina!

Let's go to the Zoo and the Lake!

The zoo is sooo much more exciting when there are little kids!
My nieces loved playing on this chicken

While they played, I had a fashion dilemma!
My flip flop broke! So I had to walk barefoot (in a zoo...gross!)
to the gift shop in hopes they had some shoes. Of course they didn't,
but they had DUCT TAPE!!!
So yay for creativity and TADA a "new" shoe!!
Unfortunately that pic is on my old phone and apparently didn't transfer it over.
but just know it look fabulous! :p

Every time we passed this Lion, we had to stop for a drink,
and they had to do it by themselves.
Notice how tight Kassity is holding on in attempt to get a drink.

One tourist attraction in Rigby is the lake! Yay!!
We got out our little raft and rowed around.
 Me and my mom!!!

The girls loved playing in the water and getting everyone wet with their squirt guns.
I loved enjoying the sun! I think we went to the lake more this summer than I ever did as a kid!

Wright Reunion

While visiting home I got to go to 2 reunions. The Wright family is my Grandma Fielding's family.
It's always at my Grandma's park.  It's so fun to visit with cousins and 2nd cousins that I hardly ever get to see.
These girls make my day- Notice Kassity's shirt
(I train them when they're young)
HAHA this picture makes me laugh, my mom is hilarious sometimes.
My littlest neice Sarah! So sweet when she's sleeping!
All the little kids got into catching tadpoles down at the pond.
I remember doing that as a kid, it was super fun!
Not sure why this video has funny colors on top of it. Hopefully it doesn't do that when it actually plays.
I love Kassity's raspy little voice. Make sure to listen to the end!!

Feeding Ducks, Drive-In Theater, and 1st Haircut

Feeding ducks is so much fun!
The first trick was to convince them that they wanted our bread!
We had competition up and down stream.
Good thing Shawn could throw far so that we eventually got the ducks to come closer.

 We even attracted a turtle!

These two decided to just watch on a bench.
Which was probably smart because our bottoms were filthy from
sitting on the sand!

We have similar cheesy smiles I think!

I love going home because it's one of the few places that still has a drive-in theatre.
We had a few hiccups. First, it was raining so we had to stay in the car.
Then in order to listen to the sound, we had to have our radio on, and because of the rain,
the windows fogged up really quick.  Which meant the car had to go on.
But when we turned the car on, the lights came on! We had no idea how to turn it off.
So throughout the first movie we had to turn the car on periodically so that the windows
would defog. Which meant the lights would shine very nicely on the screen (yea we were those people).
After the first movie (Brave) a nice guy behind us came up to us to see what was wrong with our car.
We told him our dilemma to see if he knew how to turn the lights off, he didn't, but he did say he'd had a car
similar and had no idea how to do it.  Later we accidently flipped a switch and TADA no lights!
Consequently, the rain kinda stopped during the 2nd movie (The Avengers) as well.
How appropriate.

James needed a haircut and for some reason he trusted Shannon to cut it.
But first Mom had to show her how.  Talk about nerve wracking!!
He kept a smile on his face the whole time...it's a good thing he couldn't see
Shannon's face!

Mom finished, but Shannon did a pretty good job!
