Friends in Low Places

This is Spencer and Shawn (brother-in-law) singing the one and only "I got friends in low places". I didn't catch the whole thing- but enough you get the drift.  It was hilarious!

Christmas Rigby Style

Christmas #2 was in Rigby, ID. It was nice to see my fam and especially my cute neices.  And since I don't have my own kids to blog about - I'm going to blog about others.
Mom's first brilliant plan of the weekend - let's take a walk around the Idaho Falls Greenbelt!  Freezing cold, but hey, good picture opportunity so why not...
Brooklyn  likes her Uncle Spencer!
Brooklyn put on the hat I made her all by herself - she kinda looked like a skater chic. Sandi is also in the picture - featuring a very cute flower headband...
All day she had to wear her hat!

Opening Christmas presents!!!  Brooklyn is big into "turns" right now.  She would say the person's name and "Turn" every time someone else opened a present.  She was more excited when she could say "Brooklyn's turn!!"
Kassity was more impressed with the wrapping paper instead of what was inside.
There is an ongoing tradition at our house.  When my dad was in the bishopric - he was responsible for handing out presents to families in the ward.  Someone had donated an orange 70's shirt - still in the original packaging.  He couldn't give it to another family and feel good about it - so we wrap it up every year and give it to him.  My mom tries to hide it, or thinks she's thrown it away. But we always seem to find it and wrap it once again.  My dad doesn't smile/laugh much, but this present definitely brought some laughs all around.
After a very eventful Christmas, we put the girls in their matching pjs so Kyris could take them home and put them to bed, etc.  They are soooo cute!!!

A little bit of Christmas

One of the pluses to living away from family is that we get to have 3 Christmases!!! AND I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! The first is the one we have together in our small apartment.  We have a little tree - but it fits on our table- so we can't complain.

When we first got married - we decided that we would fill each other's stocking.  Little did I know I was gettin the short end of that stick! Please notice the difference in the sizes of our stockings (mine's the li'l snowman)... my stocking stuffers didn't even fit in my stocking!

All in all it was a pretty fantastic Christmas for two!

My next project was a little somethin for my coworkers.  I'm cheap and I love snowmen- so this idea (stolen from Laura) was perfect. My friend/coworker Jill came over and we had a blast!
 We pretend to be crafty.
We're pretty sure they are stinkin cute for candybars!

Tutus and Turkey

Thanksgiving was pretty sweet.  A well deserved break.  It started Tuesday afternoon driving 8 hours to Gig Harbor (aka the "West Side") to hang out with Spencer's fam.  Wednesday we spent out shopping and my sister-in-law and I saw the best thing ever!!! TUTUS!!!! What a great costume for a Turkey Trot!  Minor problem- the extra large was meant to fit an 8 year-old.  So we decided to make our own (thanks to Andrea and Heather for the tips!) We didn't tell Pam (mom)- we just said we were making her an outfit.
The outfits turned out pretty cute- perfect for our race!! And yes...we even found matching silver glittery headbands.

The Gig Harbor Turkey Trot was so big!!! There were hundreds of people! Some people were dressed up as turkeys, chefs, and even mashed potatoes! But only three tutus! Spencer ran with me the whole way, did it in about 28 min, then I walked back to find Pam and Kenz and finished strong with the crew!  As we came to the finish line- the announcer was cheering on "the tutus"! It was pretty fun.

Later that day we went off to Grandpa's for a Thanksgiving Feast!  It was really great to hang out with Spencer's family.  I don't see them very often, so it's great to see them once in awhile.

Due to "great" weather conditions, we ended up staying an extra day.  Which wasn't too bad...Kenz and I cut up A LOT of paper using my amazing Cricut machine so she could make Christmas cards.  Spencer and I left Saturday morning and got home late Saturday night.  I was sooooo ready to be home!!

HA!

So I've been trying to get a cute heading right? And I see all these other people w/pictures and writing and I was like "I can do that".  Well, I don't have a fancy program or anything so I tried doing it in Word...of course that doesn't work. Spencer is chillin in the background saying "Babe, let me do it, I have the right program on my computer at work...you're never gonna get it." And right then I was determined to do it. I ended up putting it together in Word and then copying it over into Paint (I know...who has used that program since they were 5?) and TADA!!!! It worked! True...it's pixilated like none other and doesn't look professional at all, and Spencer is probably going to do it all over for me anyway...but still.  I had to prove him wrong...and once again, by sheer luck...I succeeded!

Halloween Treats!

Halloween weekend was pretty eventful! First was the Race....
An amazing group wouldn't you say?!  We did awesome!!!
4.5 miles later...

And of course where would we be without our adoring fans (and photographers)?

After the race, we quickly made our costumes.  Can't say we are creative...but we sure did have fun putting blood all over our T-Shirts!  Getting Spencer to put makeup on, now that was a tough part. But I won!!!

Sunday was great!  We got together with Ashley and Brody Teare and Emily and Jake Brashear and ate yummy white chile and played wii! WEEEE!!!!
Only downfall to the great weekend...no trick-or-treaters :(  But my tenants are loving the candy whent they come to pay their rent!

I'll try to add pics n stuff n posts...but no promises! So for this first post, i'm just playing around and seeing what all the different buttons do...so don't judge! :)  Have a great day!
