Thanksgiving was pretty sweet. A well deserved break. It started Tuesday afternoon driving 8 hours to Gig Harbor (aka the "West Side") to hang out with Spencer's fam. Wednesday we spent out shopping and my sister-in-law and I saw the best thing ever!!! TUTUS!!!! What a great costume for a Turkey Trot! Minor problem- the extra large was meant to fit an 8 year-old. So we decided to make our own (thanks to Andrea and Heather for the tips!) We didn't tell Pam (mom)- we just said we were making her an outfit.
The outfits turned out pretty cute- perfect for our race!! And yes...we even found matching silver glittery headbands.
The Gig Harbor Turkey Trot was so big!!! There were hundreds of people! Some people were dressed up as turkeys, chefs, and even mashed potatoes! But only three tutus! Spencer ran with me the whole way, did it in about 28 min, then I walked back to find Pam and Kenz and finished strong with the crew! As we came to the finish line- the announcer was cheering on "the tutus"! It was pretty fun.
Later that day we went off to Grandpa's for a Thanksgiving Feast! It was really great to hang out with Spencer's family. I don't see them very often, so it's great to see them once in awhile.
Due to "great" weather conditions, we ended up staying an extra day. Which wasn't too bad...Kenz and I cut up A LOT of paper using my amazing Cricut machine so she could make Christmas cards. Spencer and I left Saturday morning and got home late Saturday night. I was sooooo ready to be home!!
