January Catch Up

What did the Daddy Tomato say to the little tomato as he was walking really slow behind his dad?
"Tomato...Catchup!!!"
Hehehehe
learned that in 3rd grade and I still giggle

Lots happened in January and I got so busy that I forgot I had sweet pictures to post!
Part of January, we were babysitting/housesitting for some friends.
As it happened, it also decided to snow that weekend,
and we couldn't pass that up!
So we bundled up the kids and went to the park!
I don't know what it is about this fountain, but I feel the need
to take it's picture every time we go to the park.
I'm thinking of making a collage w/the 4 seasons of it...
The kids thought it was hilarious to sneak up on the ducks/birds
and chase them!
It was definitely fun to watch!
We played on the swings, played catch, slid down super slick slides,
chased birds, walked around, and thoroughly enjoyed
our 1 day of winter!

Afterwards, hot pizza and hot chocolate were in order!
Such a great day!!!

Tea Party

A coworker invited to a tea party at her church.
I had no idea what to expect, but I brought my packet of
hot chocolate just in case!
First there was a tea cup exchange, and since I didn't have one,
my awesome friend Sara brought an extra just in case!
It was a little retro- orange/brown - def from the 70s.
Luckily I got to exchange it and the one I got was waaaaay better!!!
I almost felt bad giving the lady my ugly cup! :)
I love pink and gray!
Then they had some girls perform praise songs.
I love going to other churches and singing for 30 min!
I never know the songs, but its fun to figure out what the singer
is going to sing and try to sing with them.
Then a lady got up and gave an awesome lecture/talk? on what
inner beauty was and how we acquire inner beauty through Christ.
I realize that some of their beliefs are a little different than mine,
but I could still feel the spirit there and still felt uplifted!
I was even inspired for some ideas for our upcoming Relief Society Birthday Party!
The girls at my table gave me a little grief about my hot chocolate "tea"
but it made people laugh.
What an awesome reason to get dressed up and go hang out with the ladies!

Swallowing My Pride

And letting the world know that I finally got a job!
As a dietary aid..aka a food server at an
assisted living home.
I've been volunteering at Monticello Park
and one day the chef asked if I wanted a job,
sure- I was already there almost every day, why not get paid?
But it's still hard to swallow.
I have a degree and I'm no where close using it!
I never thought I'd be a degree snob, but there it is.
But I love my coworkers and I love the residents.
I am a little sad that I don't get to do as many activities
with them as I was when I was volunteering, but
they still say hi, so all's good.
I've also never been a waitress, so it's a whole new experience
and I'm definitely learning a lot about the backend of a kitchen
and kudos to people who have served their whole life.
I'm still looking and applying for other jobs, but in the meantime,
this isn't a bad option.
Yesterday at work, my coworker decided
we needed to add some sparkle to our jobs,
so she gave us glitter lipstick pens to take orders!
Love it!!! lol

First Legit Snow Fall & First Day of Work

January 18, 2012....
My first day of work and I woke up to this.
All the schools cancelled for the day
and I still had to go to work, so not fair!
I felt like I was back in Pullman, made me feel right at home!
Spencer and I ended up driving into Longview together
(mainly cuz I'm a pansy and didn't want to drive, and
his car wouldn't have made it through the nonplowed roads)
By the end of the day, most of the snow had melted, so I didn't even
get to make a snowman!!!
But atleast I got some snow!!
